In the long Milwaukee winter of 2013, Sat. Nite Duets returned to the basement to begin work on its third LP. Forced by the elements into semi-seclusion, they spent six months honing songs, laying down tracks, watching “Wheel Of Fortune” and listening to Candy-O and Music From Big Pink in constant, perfect rotation.

On October 22nd, the cumulative product of those months will be released into the world. Or, rather, the world will be released into it. On October 22nd, the gates of ELECTRIC MANLAND open once and for all.

Louder, slicker, and more ambitious than anything Sat. Nite Duets has done before, ELECTRIC MANLAND is an album of unbelievable sprit seated somewhere between Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Buffett at the roundtable of rock n’ roll. As always, it features songs written by all five members, who drew musical and spiritual guidance from the far reaches of the rock pantheon and beyond. You’ll hear Springsteen, Hendrix, Don McLean… you’ll hear Grimes, Black Flag, and Pat Sajak. Just one look at the motley crew assembled Sergeant Pepper’s-style on the album cover should give you a sense of the many influences mingling in ELECTRIC MANLAND.

Featuring a veritable orchestra of local musicians, which added strings, trumpet, harpsichord and more to flesh out the group’s traditional rock band arrangement, ELECTRIC MANLAND has a truly epic sound. And yet, at their core, Sat. Nite Duets are the same goofballs who brought you Hamm’s in the shower and a song about a twenty-foot bong. With its janky guitar tones, catchy choruses, and uncanny lyrical grip on the world of the 20-something American male, ELECTRIC MANLAND is a 2,000 decibel boy’s night out. Welcome. We hope you never leave.
